Your DNA Didn't Create Your Phobias; Your Experiences Did
Phobias are rarely a line written into our DNA. Genetics may affect how strongly someone reacts to stress or unfamiliar situations, but they do not predetermine a fear of dogs, crowded rooms, or flying.
Experiences give fear its story: a frightening event, a learned response, or a pattern we absorb from others. Understanding that difference can make fear feel less like a fixed identity and more like something we can examine with compassion.
